Projects

The Projects are at the heart of Round Square work.  Involvement in them is an appraisal requirement.

'Send at least one student annually on a RSIS project or three to regional projects'

They fall in to two categories: those organised centrally which are known as Round Square International Service (RSIS) projects and those organised by individual schools or regions.

RSIS projects will always address the Hahnian 'pillars', by providing a genuine service project in an area of need, adventurous activity and some kind of cultural involvement.

Your role is likely to be to:

  • Publicise and enthuse about involvement.  Ann West’s FAQ document may be useful.
  • Follow up interested students with Extended Project Information
  • Liaise between Liz Gray and the student in the business of filling in a number of essential forms
  • Liaise with the school in the provision of references.

If you are planning a  Project which includes the words ' Round Square' you must liaise with Liz to ensure that the basic RS ground plan for projects is in operation.

An RSIS party is made up of no more than two, exceptionally three, students from any one member school and thus the project has a truly international feel.  They are lead by experienced Round Square staff.  School or regional projects may be able to include students from elsewhere.   Further information is always available from Liz Gray.
