What should my son/daughter do to prepare for the RS Project?

All RS projects are advertised well in advance so it is possible for students to select the individual project which most interests them. Students should consider all of the projects and select according to their own personal skills and interests (not all projects are the same, of course; some are construction and some are conservation, for example).

The RS Project Coordinator supplies the Leaders Package, to be read by all participants.

The information sent out to parents and students in the package from the Project Coordinator should be read over very carefully. Special attention should be paid to the provided kit list.

Student participants should speak to previous participants and/or the Group Leader on such projects for direct insights and should endeavour to learn as much as possible about the geography and the people of the country before the project.

Check the RS website (www.roundsquare.org ) for summaries of previous RS projects.

The student should be involved personally in the raising of the funds necessary to participate in the project. This will make for a much more meaningful experience for the student.
