The IDEALS in our school

Lakefield College School is proud to have been the first Canadian member of Round Square, having been brought into the organization in 1978 by then Head of School (and subsequent Round Square Executive Director), Mr. Terry Guest.  It was a natural fit, as the Round Square IDEALS are a vital part of virtually every program our students experience – whether they’re participating in Outdoor Education classes on our scenic, waterfront campus, interacting with LCS friends from over thirty countries around the world, being challenged and engaged by the innovative Leadership-Characters-Values curriculum, or taking part in one of our many international service opportunities.

What being a Round Square school means to us

At Lakefield College School, being a Round Square School better enables us to achieve our Mission:  to challenge and enable our students to reach their individual potential in mind, body and spirit.  The IDEALS of Round Square are a natural fit with our school’s key values, namely:  Education of the Whole Person, Trust, A Healthy, Caring Community, Individuality, Learning, Citizenship, and Environmental Stewardship.  As a result, as much learning and personal growth occurs outside the LCS classroom as inside.
