The IDEALS in our school

Students have many avenues to fulfil Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership and Service. They do so from within the curriculum, in the co-curriculum, through sport and through service as well as formal Round Square opportunities.

Students, engage in The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal on a massive scale each year and support dozens of other charities. Staff and students raised funds and worked with Rotary International to supply critical resources to natural disaster victims Vanuatu and Nepal. Rockhampton Grammar Reef Guardians work to preserve coral and study the Great Barrier Reef. Students have visited Borneo to rebuild a traditional communal village long house and traveled to Dunedin, New Zealand, on a cultural visit making links with families and schools.

What being a Round Square school means to us

As a Round Square School, The Rockhampton Grammar School is able to synthesize many of our activities across many areas of the School under one banner. Previous to Round Square, opportunities throughout the School were uncoordinated and ad hoc in their implementation. Round Square provides us with a structure to gather diverse elements together and a focal point for the School to cohesively administer related projects, processes and student activities under the IDEALS framework.
