Landheim Ammersee is a boarding school located in Schondorf am Ammersee with two separate upper schools and a lower school. The campus includes 27 buildings and a private dock on the Ammersee.
The IDEALS in our school
The school’s own philosophy of ‘Kopf, Herz und Hand’ or ‘of Head, Heart and Hand’ is almost equivalent to the RS IDEALS and the underlying motto of Kurt Hahn: ‘plus est en vous’.
Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership and Service are deeply embedded in our daily school life and go hand in hand with the code of values which our students have set up for themselves: A readiness to help, sincerity, justice, fairness and responsibility. Through our international exchange programs and open-minded campus culture we strive to hone our students’ awareness about both the responsibilities connected with an increasingly globalized world and the possibilities available to each individual.
What being a Round Square school means to us
Students are able to actively live the IDEALS, especially through service projects, and witness them becoming a reality. By being part of RS and becoming global citizens our students have the unique opportunity to shape their own future and that of RS. Being ambassadors not only for our school but also our country gives our students a new sense of self and of responsibility whenever they go out on RS exchanges, conferences or service projects.
