Round Square Day Global Challenge 2025

Round Square Day Global Challenge

On 5 June, we will celebrate the power of community action, and discover what can be achieved through collaboration, for Round Square Day.

In an effort to reinvigorate student fundraising for Round Square across our network to generate essential funds for International Service Projects and Bursaries, we are asking all RS Schools to please involve your students in a global challenge.

The idea came from a discussion on Zoom between RS Student Committee representatives from schools around the world. They suggested we coordinate a Global Challenge in which, through a cumulative effort, students across the RS community circumnavigate the globe with sponsored miles.

To collectively complete 24,901 miles (40,074 km) by 5 June 2025, we are asking that each Round Square School undertakes to cover 100 miles (161 kilometres) and raise funds along the way. We really hope you will get involved, to support our Service Project partners and Bursary recipients.

In true Round Square fashion, it’s up to you (or your students) how you interpret this challenge. Your school community might walk, run, swim, cycle, hop, crawl, ski, climb, row, or find other creative ways to travel. You might complete your miles in litter picked, trees planted, bricks laid, books read, toys donated or another service-oriented activity. All that we ask is you aim to raise one or two dollars for every mile covered, and donate it to Round Square for the Discovery Fund.

The Round Square Global Challenge launches today, and we are asking that your miles are completed in time to share your final sponsorship amount as a donation pledge by 5 June, when we will announce the total amount raised.

We have created resources to help you promote the Round Square Day Global Challenge, including editable posters and sponsorship forms. You can find these in the logged in section of the website:
