The Round Square International Conference 2024: Blooming from the Past
Posted: 23 January 2024
The Round Square International Conference is an annual event run by, and for, students aged 16-18. It moves around the world with students from different schools hosting each time. Most recently, in September 2023, we came together at Brookhouse School in Nairobi, Kenya around the theme of “The New Africa”, considering the many ways in which Africa has evolved and is defining its position in the 21st Century.
In September 2024, we will be heading to Colombia in South America for the 56th Round Square International Conference, which will be hosted by Colegio Anglo Colombiano, Colegio Gran Bretaña, Colegio Los Nogales, Gimnasio Campestre, and The English School. This year’s Conference Theme, “Blooming from the Past”, is an invitation to explore how we can build a better future by starting from an understanding, and acceptance, of the past.
Our hosts say “It is with great enthusiasm that we extend an invitation to join us, and embark on a journey of learning and growth. By focusing on the theme of “Blooming from the Past,” we will encourage conference delegates to reflect on their roots, learn from the past, and channel those lessons into personal and collective growth. Colombia, with its rich history, vibrant culture, and breath taking landscapes, serves as the perfect backdrop for this journey.”
