Compassion

Round Square Explorers discover in themselves a desire and capacity to feel and share another’s emotions, perspective and opinions: to empathise. They develop understanding and empathy for the plight of others who are in distress, in need or suffering.

Their compassion is informed by a particular sensitivity to heritage, culture, background, ethics, beliefs, social differences and alternate perspectives. Round Square Explorers gain an understanding of the need to balance instinctive compassion with an appreciation of the contextual values, society and circumstances of a particular situation.

They are motivated to take informed action and initiate appropriate, sensitive, collaborative, sustainable, partnership-based help.
