Seeking refuge in Australia from war-torn Afghanistan as a child, to then attaining a triple major degree and pushing himself to be a dedicated mentor to young Australians, Akram Azimi was named the 2013 Young Australian of the Year. In the same year, Akram used his new title to deliver over 1,000 speeches to over 300,000 Australians on topics varying from education, polio eradication and reconciliation. He is a truly passionate and inspiring speaker.
