Africa Regional Conferences

About Regional Conferences in my Region

The Africa Region typically hosts conferences between February and March for 14 to 15 year olds and May for 12 to 14 year olds, as this is the most suitable timing in the regional academic calendar.

We also ask host schools to ensure that the conference fees are no more than USD 500 for delegate fees plus accommodation, there is usually an additional cost for adults this is dependent on hotel.

These conferences allow students to focus and discuss the IDEALS through practical activities and discussions.

Any school that would like to host is invited to send an Expression of Interest to the Regional Support Manager, the Regional Trustee or express interest at the Annual Regional meeting.

If you would like any support with planning, implementation or evaluation of your conference please contact Emma, our Conference and Projects Manager (

Heads’ and Reps’ Annual Regional Meeting (ARM)

The Annual Regional Meeting is held in March/April each year. Alongside the Regional meeting the students are also hosted for a Regional Conference for those aged 15 to 18 years.  This conference typically runs for four to five days.

If any school would like to support us by hosting this programme, please send through your Expression of Interest to the contacts below.

Cluster Meetings

Africa has three cluster groups:-

East Africa (Kenya,Tanzania and Rwanda) Johannesburg and Cape Town).

Each clusters group host atleast meetings atleast twice a year, this offers exposure to more students and teachers and is cost effective.

Cluster meetings give students the opportunity to share best practice, collaborate on various projects and to cover key topics from a micro to a macro level.
