Students from Prep to Year 6 at Matthew Flinders Anglican College on the Sunshine Coast raised more than $12,000 for World Bicycle Relief by designing a wheels-a-thon challenge.
Corazón Verde, or ‘green heart’ is the dedicated environmental program at Colegio Colombo Británico. It’s main aim is to increase community awareness of the relationship between humans and the environment, and how we can reduce our schools impact on the planet and develop a commitment to sustainability within our students.
Students at St. Clement’s have been challenged to “redefine design” and to produce clothes that are more sustainable and environmentally conscious, while aiming to educate the school community on the environmental issues in the fashion industry. The theme also aligned well with The Kasiisi Project, the organization receiving the proceeds from ticket sales
Cadet College Hasan Abdal in Pakistan hosted a online Symposium to raise awareness of their immediate surroundings, to spur critical thinking and evolve their minds to envision eco-friendly ways to lead their lives while preserving the environment. The aim was to give students an insight into the present situation of our planet and interacting with peers from different parts of the world helped create a sense of solidarity and environmental responsibility amongst the students.
Calgary French and International School hosted a Zoom discussion about environmentalism with a goal of trying to help raise awareness on how much our environments have changed in the past few years. We talked with students from India, the United States, Canada and Colombia about the differences in our environments from one country to the next and we talked about how contact with nature shaped our lives.
The students of Grade I, class of 2019-20, The Shri Ram School (TSRS), India collaborated with Buckingham Browne and Nichols (BBN), USA school through the Round Square network. The theme was Exploring and Engaging with Food. BBN School selected to learn about herbs and TSRS chose carrots.
At Regents we recognise the impacts of climate change and the importance of respecting our environment. The Regents Eco-Committee are a group of staff, parents and students from all year groups who share a common passion: saving the environment.
Amidst the COVID-19 lock-down, the Dhirubhai Ambani International School hosted a student-led collaboration of online activities every week with other schools in the South Asia and Gulf Region. Around 120 students from 14 Round Square schools participated in four weeks of interesting, engaging and productive online sessions. Comprising of art and craft, dance, fitness, singing, and cookery, these activities are created to be as enjoyable and interactive as possible to traverse the boundaries of lock down.
The Flinders Eco Experience at Matthew Flinders Anglican College invites visitors to explore the school’s rainforest-fringed campus via a self-guided walk that links nature with technology. The Eco Experience weaves a one kilometre path through the 22-hectare College campus and enables visitors to use their mobile device, such as a mobile phone or iPad, to explore and experience the flora and fauna along the way.
