Colegio Anglo Colombiano in Bogota have asked Teacherhorizons to lead the search for an inspiring Head of Educational Support Team to join their prestigious international school to start as soon as possible or in January 2019.

Opportunity

This is a wonderful opportunity to become part of the leadership team in one of the top schools in Latin America. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Special Education Needs or UK National Award for SEN Co-ordination or equivalent. Minimum 5 years teaching experience in Special Education Needs in Schools. Minimum 3 years working in (middle) management in schools. As well as, be able to communicate in Spanish, or show a desire to learn. The school would support in this process with Spanish classes.

Bogotá, Colombia

Most of the international schools in Colombia are located in the capital, Bogota. This is the third-largest city in South America, second only to Mexico City and New York. Bogota is a city of contrasts, with both hectic highways and shady tree-lined avenues. The city has a number of distinct districts, such as La Candelaria with its quaint streets and historic houses, and Chapinero with its bars, clubs, shops and boutiques. At over 2km over sea level, Bogota has a coolish climate. English is spoken by many young people, although efforts to speak Spanish will be rewarded.

This position offers a generous salary (between $ 78,000 and US $ 80,000 per year before tax and deductions, approx 18%), and expatriate benefits package.
