Markham College

A member of the Latin American Heads’ Conference (LAHC), International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and the Round Square Organisation, Markham College, Lima, is one of the leading independent schools in South America.  Markham College is a not for profit organisation governed by a Board of Governors.

With over 2200 pupils (3-18) and 340 staff across two campuses, the College has recently opened a new Nursery, a state-of-the-art Science Centre and world-class facilities for Visual and Performing Arts. The Mathematics and Physical Education departments have also recently been refurbished.

Academic results at both IGCSE and IB level are amongst the best internationally.  The Public Examination results are outstanding and are available to view on the College’s website. Markham students have been recognised by the Cambridge International Examinations Board for achieving the highest marks in the world in Art, Co-ordinated Science, Maths, Computer Studies, Geography, History, Spanish Literature, Physical Education and Food and Nutrition. The majority of students take up places at leading universities in Peru and around the world including Stanford, Princeton, Columbia, Cambridge, Imperial College, University College London and The London School of Economics. Over the past years, many students have secured Oxbridge offers.

The College is looking to appoint an English Teacher in the Upper School from February 2020.  Candidates should hold a relevant degree, preferably a teaching qualification and be able to teach IGCSE and IB Higher Level and be prepared to participate fully in the academic and extra-curricular life of the college.

Markham College has recently launched its very own multidisciplinary, project based learning initiative called IMPACT. The IMPACT programme runs throughout the school and promotes core skills and values.  Teachers with an interest in this style of pedagogy and a desire to engage with the IMPACT programme would be of particular interest to the college.

Applications with a covering letter and a CV of no more than two pages should be uploaded to the school’s application system (https://jobs.markham.edu.pe) as soon as possible and no later than Monday 16th September 2019.

Information about the College can be found at www.markham.edu.pe.
