St Andrew’s School Turi is seeking to appoint an energetic and inspirational Teacher of English to joint the English department.  A love for language and literature and a keen interest in teaching creatively are key requirements.  The ideal candidate will join a thriving and well developed department, and will be expected to teach across Year 9 to Year 13.  The successful individual will be innovative and keen to inspire students to achieve their best.

The role of assistant house parent would also be available to the right candidate.

St Andrew’s School Turi is one of the most prominent international schools in Kenya and has an outstanding reputation throughout Africa.  Founded as a Preparatory School for the children of expatriates in 1931, it has grown to comprise both Preparatory and Senior Schools to welcome children over 25 nationalities, the majority of whom are now African.  The Senior School is a full boarding school.

The Senior School was founded in 1988 and is a member of COBIS and global member of Round Square.  It aims to provide a world class education with outstanding teaching and learning central to its vision of creating leaders that will change their country, continental and the world for good.  Students are prepared for GCSE/IGCSE and A level exams and move on to universities in the UK, America, Australia and many other parts of the world.

The School is situated on a beautiful 400 acre site on the western slopes of Rift Valley some 200km NW of Nairobi, near the Equator and at 2600m where the climate is temperature.  It is a malaria free zone.  All teaching staff are housed in the School compound together with their families.  The School has a modern Sports Centre which has a gym and other sporting activities which is open to all teaching staff and their families.  Families can also enjoy bird watching, kayaking, walking, jogging and other activities in the School compound which is secured with an electric fence.
