GAP at The Armidale School, Australia

The Armidale School welcomes young men and women who have completed their secondary schooling but are yet to finish tertiary studies, to work at the school as a Gap Assistant.
GAP Assistants are offered accommodation, all meals during term time, a pay allowance, and other benefits including free membership to our indoor swim centre, gymnasium, and weights room. All Gap Assistants are accommodated in their own room, in a central location in the school, comprising individual lockable bedrooms, shared bathroom, kitchen facilities and comfortable shared lounge room.

Gap duties will involve assisting staff in each of our schools, administration, in our Outdoor Education programs, Creative Arts department, excursions, and sports coaching. Duties will vary each day and Gappies work alongside TAS staff in their roles.

TAS accepts Gap Assistants for 12 months (preferred) or 6 month periods beginning in either late January (for Southern Hemisphere applicants) or July (Northern Hemisphere applicants). Limited positions are available for application in April and October.
You must ensure that you have travel health insurance for the duration of your stay at TAS. While Gap Assistants coming from the United Kingdom receive reciprocal rights to health insurance in Australia, additional cover is recommended.

Successful applicants coming from all countries (other than New Zealand) will be required to apply for an Australian Temporary Activities Visa.
