Round Square is delighted to announce the appointment of Florencia Marante as Round Square Schools’ Support Director – Latin America.

Florencia currently co-ordinates Community Service activity at Belgrano Day School in Buenos Aires, and is responsible for the school’s K-12 Values Education Programme. Her career in education spans 25 years working in schools across Argentina, as a Teacher and Head of Department, and management positions in which she has worked together with the board of directors in the development of several institutional projects.

At Belgrano Day School, Florencia participated in the creation of a new educational department that involved all students K-12 in activities and workshops related to character education, service experiences and a social and emotional learning programme that includes a syllabus of “Education for a world of peace” for the senior years. This experience of creating a structure that embeds and promotes character education within a school, and winning fellow educators to her cause, will be invaluable to her in guiding and supporting Round Square Schools in Latin American countries.

In addition to her degree in Management Education, Florencia also holds a degree in Journalism and began her career in Journalism, Marketing and Public Relations. This background, combined with her extensive experience both as a teacher and as an educational manager, and her work with organisations in the charity and not-for-profit sectors, means that Florencia comes to Round Square with a broad portfolio of applicable skills, and wide-ranging understanding and experience of the positive benefits and opportunities of the interaction between these sectors.

Florencia is a passionate promoter of character and values-based education and champions the benefits of internationalising the education experience for students, with a keen understanding of the particular benefits that this can bring for schools in Latin America. She has previously participated in Round Square conferences within the Americas region, and experienced the excitement of hosting a RS Conference when BDS took on the Americas Regional Conference in April 2017.

In this new role, Florencia will be working closely with Duncan Hossack, Schools Support Director for the USA and Canada, to co-ordinate collaboration across the region, and support the Americas region as a whole. We know that you will join us in wishing them both well in their new roles and will offer your guidance and involvement as they work together to support and promote the work of RS schools across the Americas region.

Florencia will join the Round Square Worldwide Management Team on 1st June 2018.
