Time Fraction: 0.8 FTE (4 days per week or equivalent)
Salary: Negotiable commensurate with experience and current position
Start-date: After April 2018 – negotiable subject to notice period in current role
Contract: via a consultancy contract or secondment from a RS school
Main job purpose: Reporting to the Chief Executive of Round Square, and working with the Regional Trustee and Reps’ Rep in Africa, liaise with, support, and guide development of Round Square in schools throughout the Africa Region in line with the African schools’ shared Regional Objectives and our Worldwide Strategic Plan.

Background and overview:

Within this Framework, Students and Faculty in Member Schools are encouraged to discover and develop their own capabilities through a range of experiences, activities, collaborative projects and challenges, both in and beyond the curriculum, including international, regional and local social service projects, exchanges and conferences.
The role of Schools’ Support Director - Africa (0.8 FTE) replaces the current position of Africa Regional Support Manager (0.4 FTE) which is coming to the end of a fixed three-year term. This new role has been created as part of an ongoing strategy to encourage and facilitate increased networking and collaboration between RS schools, providing greater value, support and leadership to the RS Schools’ network at regional and local levels.
The Schools’ Support Director – Africa will report directly to the Chief Executive of Round Square and is part of the Round Square Worldwide Management Team. The successful applicant will have a background in education/ teaching and a passion for character education. In this role they will draw on their ability to engage with, inform and influence schools’ strategic development at a senior level to provide ambassadorial leadership to a broad-ranging network.
