British School Jakarta (BSJ) is an international school with British heritage, for children from around the world aged three to 18. The School is located 7km south-west of the capital city of Indonesia, on an 18-hectare estate. BSJ was founded in 1974 with support from the British Embassy. Today, about 1,450 children from 52 different countries study there.
The British School Jakarta
The IDEALS give us the opportunity to showcase the many exciting programmes that we have in our School. Our vibrant and active Student Council and Round Square committee embody what student voice is all about; they are at the heart of the day-to-day running of BSJ. The Service strand is characterised by our innovative IB Diploma CAS programme, which involves over 40 projects - including Indonesia Unfolded, for which three of our students were awarded the 2017 Kurt Hahn Prize. As our Eco Committee continues to grow, environmentalism is ever more at the heart of everything that we do, too.
What being a RS school means to us
We take great pride in being the first School on the island of Java, Indonesia, to become part of the Round Square family. Our membership offers a huge range of opportunities for our students, be those international conferences, exchanges or service projects. Alongside our Learner Profile, our association with Round Square provides a framework for the character-education that we offer, and enhances the experience of our entire school community.
