RSIS Borneo: Arrivals day

Arrivals Day

It’s been a busy day and we are pleased to announce that all students have now arrived safely in Borneo. All students were met by our wonderful team of adult leaders at the airport and escorted back to the hotel to relax, play cards, brush up on the Indonesian language skills and get to know the rest of the team. As you can see dinner was very busy!

About the team

Our project team is led by Vicki from St Philip’s College supported by Daniel from Felsted School, Anna from the Armidale School, Caroline from Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, Justin from St Cyprian’s, Holly From Latymer Upper School and Tui our nurse from Ashbury College.

We are excited to have a total of 47 Round Square students from schools across the globe join us on this project including; Ballarat Grammar, Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School,Brookhouse School, Daly College, Glenlyon Norfolk School, Ivanhoe Grammar School, Latymer Upper School,  MacLachlan College, Mayo College, Roedean School, Schule Schloss Salem, St. Philip’s College, St Clement’s School, Stiftung Louisenlund, The British School of Jakarta, The Shri Ram School, The Scindia School, Vivek High School, Vidya Devi Jindal School and Westminster School.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow, after a big breakfast (which needs to be done in two sittings due to the size of the group!) the team will receive their orientation from the adult leadership team.

Mid-morning they will transfer to the project site in Tambunan which will be their home for the next 10 days where they will be welcomed with a special lunch.

We now don’t anticipate hearing from the team until the end of their first full day on the project site due to travelling and then settling into life in the community, but as soon as we receive their first update (hopefully with lots of photos!) we will email you to let you know when we’ve posted an update.
