CheongShim International Academy, founded in 2005, is a coed, independent boarding school located in South Korea’s beautiful mountain area, providing a cohesive educational experience for its students from Grade 7 to 12 under a comprehensive liberal arts curriculum, with a strong emphasis on foreign languages. This because we believe that Korea’s gifted youth should be raised to serve all humanity.
The IDEALS in our school
CSIA strives to maintain an authentic learning environment grounded in an Altruistic Mind, Creative Knowledge and Global Leadership (ACG) education. CSIA students are especially committed to community service and activism, drawing attention to social issues. These take the forms of helping underclassmen with their schoolwork, organizing fundraising events, and providing weekly support for underprivileged students outside the school. The school is run by the Student Council, a collection of eight departments that operate under the leadership of the school president and vice presidents. These departments specialize in planning, communications, environment, student activities, sports, publications, self-government, and school promotion.
What being a Round Square school means to us
The Round Square IDEALS are integrated into every aspect of the CSIA curriculum producing well-rounded leaders who excel academically and are also prepared emotionally, physically and spiritually to become global leaders. CSIA prides itself on its unique curriculum. We have nontraditional class structures that allow students and teachers greater freedom in choosing the subject matter and interacting with each other.
