At the heart of Bloxham village, on the edge of the Cotswolds, Bloxham School has been part of the Oxfordshire community since 1860. Today, our community of nearly 600 pupils benefits from the resources, opportunities and ambition of a much larger school, while retaining a sense of belonging that make Bloxham distinctive.
We believe in nurturing the whole child – mind, body and soul, recognising that personal character and individual growth are just as important as academic achievement. Alongside a comprehensive academic curriculum, our broad co-curricular programme gives every pupil the opportunity to discover new interests, develop skills for life and find their individual strengths.
Co-education is fundamental to who we are. It reflects the diverse, collaborative world our pupils will go on to live and work in, preparing them to learn from and work alongside others with confidence, empathy and respect. At Bloxham, everyone matters, everyone contributes and every pupil is encouraged to discover what they can achieve.
The Ideals in our school
At Bloxham, the Round Square IDEALS are woven into everyday school life, shaping how our pupils learn, participate and contribute. Through our global connections, pupils develop an appreciation of different cultures and perspectives, while opportunities to have their voice heard encourage them to understand and respect different viewpoints.
The Round Square IDEALS compliment the five hallmarks of a Bloxham education as we strive to nurture a sense of environmental responsibility through our curriculum and wider school initiatives, while a broad range of experiences encourages pupils to embrace adventure, challenge themselves and step beyond their comfort zones. Pupils are also given opportunities to lead, take responsibility and support others, building confidence and resilience. Alongside this, service is an important part of Bloxham life, with pupils encouraged to contribute to their school, local community and wider world.
