As a school leader, you know the profound impact that experiential learning can have on your students. Imagine giving them the opportunity to connect with peers from around the world, united by a shared mission: to work hand-in-hand with a community to create meaningful change and make a difference to their lives.
Round Square International Service projects (RSIS) offer more than just community service; they provide life-changing experiences that challenge students to grow in ways they never thought possible. These projects push students beyond their comfort zones, fostering self-discovery and personal development in an immersive, distraction-free environment—no phones, just real connections and powerful experiences.
Through RSIS, your students will build confidence, enhance leadership skills, and improve communication and problem-solving abilities—all while forming lifelong memories.
From a school perspective, your role is to help promote the projects and provide student references; we take care of all logistics, safety management, and risk assessment, with no financial commitment required from the school.
Are you ready to inspire your students to take the leap into something extraordinary?
“Experiencing first hand the contrasting ways of life of local villagers in a remote community on the other side of the world was truly eye-opening and inspired me to appreciate all I am given throughout my life. Additionally, it has inspired me to work hard to take advantage of the opportunities I am given to create more opportunities for these individuals.”

“The project is not about the building, it is about the community that students, teachers, and individuals in need form and the personal strengths that are established throughout the truly life-changing experience.”

“I think the most memorable part of my Thailand experience was having to build and form a community with a bunch of people from all around the world who I have never met. As a student, you often don’t get many opportunities to do something like this.”

RSIS Projects
Projects focus on the following:

Service
Students work with the local community to create lasting change within their village or area, such as constructing a school building or installing solar light panels, so that a previously impassable road, can be used at night.

Personal Growth
With everyone on the project meeting for the first time, students have an opportunity to step outside their usual roles, explore new aspects of themselves, and connect with others in a fresh, authentic way.

Cultural Connection
RSIS projects are immersive, allowing students to be become part of the community. They share meals prepared by locals, learn skills and traditions, which deepens their global understanding and enhances their awareness of cultural differences.

Skills for Life
Previous participants share that RSIS projects have strengthened their leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities while broadening their global perspectives – skills and insights that continue to shape their lives long after they return home.
Bursaries
Each year, bursaries are available to help students from Round Square Global Member Schools take part in either the Round Square International Service Projects or the Round Square International Conference. Bursaries can cover part or all of the participation fees, typically offering up to £1,000 depending on individual circumstances.
To be eligible, students must attend a Round Square Global Member School, demonstrate financial need, and provide a letter of support from their school principal. Applicants are also encouraged to seek additional funding through personal fundraising or part-time work.
