RSIS South Africa July 2026: Baraza Sessions

Share With

In our Baraza sessions, we have been reflecting on our time spent here. We have decided to ask a few people about their learnings in their sessions and how they have put them to action. We have learnt everything from Afrikaans to lessons on compassion, teamwork and communication.

For most of us, the experiences that we have made so are memorable and we have learnt a lot of lessons that we can put to action in our everyday life. We also learnt how to appreciate different cultures and diversity, and accept when people hold different perspectives.

The Baraza sessions give us the opportunity to reflect on our actions and hear other perspectives and opinions. We discuss our life lessons and takeaways from our experiences and how we can use them to improve the world around us, by putting them into action.

Every Baraza group session is a valuable experiences for us. They allow us to practice being more self aware, as well as strengthening our team bond.

A part of our daily Baraza sessions is also giving feedback to the leader of the day. All of us have to be a leader for one day and help organise group dynamics. By getting constructive feedback on our leadership, we are able to improve our leadership skills for the next time we are going to be in a position of leadership.
