Set on a stunning bushland campus in Gelorup, Western Australia, Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School (BCGS) is a modern, independent school offering a seamless education from Early Learning through to Year 12 – all on one connected campus. With close to 700 students and around 200 staff, we strike a rare balance: the space and lifestyle of the South West, paired with a dynamic, future-focused education. Our students grow up confident, curious and grounded – ready to take on whatever comes next.

The Ideals in our school

At BCGS, the Round Square IDEALS – Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service – are deeply embedded in our culture and programs. They shape the way we teach, the way students learn, and the way we interact as a community.

Throughout their journey with us, students step out of the classroom and into nature through our camp program, developing resilience, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Primary students take part in the Round Square Passport – a dynamic way to explore the IDEALS through action, reflection and creativity. Secondary students take on leadership through our House system, peer support roles, and hands-on learning that builds real-world confidence.

What being a Round Square school means to us

Being a Round Square school connects us – and our students – to something bigger. Through student exchanges, conferences, service projects and international partnerships, our young people gain real insight into global issues, diverse perspectives, and what it means to make a difference.

These experiences aren’t just memorable – they’re formative. Whether it’s hosting a visiting student, joining a service project abroad, or speaking at a conference, our students are inspired, challenged, and ready to engage with the world around them.
