2024 Roy McComish Art Award Winners
The winners of the 2024 Roy McComish Art Award were announced at the Closing Ceremony of the Round Square International Conference in Colombia.
Each year, in the run up to the RSIC, students from across the Round Square network are invited to create art inspired by the Conference theme. This year, over 200 entries explored the theme “Blooming From The Past” in a variety of formats and medium.
The winning entries are shown below. The winners each received prizes and were sent a certificate to recognise their achievements.
The Award is named after Roy McComish, who was the founding Headmaster of Box Hill School, and before that, a Master at Gordonstoun School, two of the schools that formed the Round Square community. Roy also led an international group of a hundred students who volunteered to help in the wake of earthquakes in Greece in 1955, and this became the inspiration for what later became the Round Square International Service Project. As one of the important people in the history of Round Square, we remember Roy, who was an Art Master, in the presentation of this award.
Details of how to enter the Roy McComish Art Award for 2025 will be shared soon.
