RS Collaborations from Hotchkiss School

The latest issue of ‘Analogue’, a photography magazine founded and run by students from Hotchkiss School in the USA, includes multiple submissions from students from other Round Square schools.

Hotchkiss shared an open invitation to submit photos on the Round Square collaborations board, which was circulated in RS Weekly. Students were invited to compile personal visual narratives centred around the theme ‘ Home and Heart’, focusing on the question “What do you call home?” emphasising the diverse cultures that inform different lived experiences.

Congratulations to all the students who submitted their artwork and to the magazine committee at Hotchkiss for a superb third edition.

Hotchkiss also invites collaborations for its annual Film Festival, and Round Square schools have done well in previous years, where Round Square schools have done well in previous years, even capturing the grand jury prize and being considered for other top awards. David Thompson, Round Square Coordinator, notes that the Hotchkiss Film Club values these collaborations highly:

“It’s the same as why students love going to conferences. They see themselves, they see people like them from different places and they make connections, share interests and affinities, but it is also a levelling experience for students, because they realise ‘they are just like me’.”

David emphasizes that the secret to successful collaborations is consistent outreach within the school: “Keep putting [the opportunities] out there. Once you have a few examples of how collaborations add value to a project, it becomes easier.”
