High School English Language Arts Teacher

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced High School Teacher to become part of our faculty. The ideal candidate is an educator who can effectively inspire and engage students within a diverse and inclusive English learning environment. This role requires a creative approach to teaching, with the ability to develop and implement a curriculum that promotes critical thinking, communication skills, and a profound appreciation for literature and language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons in English.
- Design educational materials and assessment methods that are in line with the educational philosophy and standards of our school, while also addressing the diverse needs of our students.
- Work collaboratively with other subject areas to foster interdisciplinary work among colleagues and students.
- Cultivate a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Employ various instructional and differentiation strategies and technologies to enhance learning outcomes and engage students with varying learning styles.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress, offering timely and constructive feedback to support individual learning goals.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and school committees to contribute to the continuous improvement of our educational programs.
- Interact with the school community, including parents and guardians, to support student learning and development beyond the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Native English speaker; some proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
- AP certification in AP Language and Composition and/or AP Literature and Composition.
- Minimum of three (3) years teaching AP Language and Composition and/or AP Literature and Composition.
- Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in High School, with a strong background in English Language Arts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students and colleagues.
- Capacity to establish positive professional relationships with 16 to 18-year-old students.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
