Middle School Learning Experiences Through Discovery (LED) interdisciplinary teacher

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced middle and high school teacher to become part of our faculty. The ideal candidate is an educator who can effectively inspire and engage students within a diverse and inclusive English learning environment in both sections. This role requires a creative approach to teaching, with the ability to develop and implement a curriculum that promotes critical thinking, communication skills, and a profound appreciation for literature and language. Additionally, we are looking for a professional who is capable of teaching interdisciplinary Project-Based Learning (PBL) classes in middle school, critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, active listening, collaboration, metacognition, and communication across different subject areas, specifically English, Science and Social Studies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that promote active learning and student ownership.
• Design educational materials and assessment methods that are aligned with the school’s educational philosophy and standards while effectively addressing the diverse needs of all students through differentiation strategies tailoring instruction to meet individual student needs by adjusting content, process, product, and learning environment.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills to create a structured, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
• Employ various instructional strategies, including Project-Based Learning (PBL), to enhance learning outcomes and engage students with different learning styles.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines to promote and develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
• Exhibit flexibility and a positive, team-oriented mindset to adapt to evolving project requirements and curricular needs.
• Cultivate a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
• Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments of student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support individual learning goals.
• Participate in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and school committees to contribute to the continuous improvement of our educational programs.
• Maintain open and effective communication with the school community, including parents and guardians, to support student learning and holistic development.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in education, English, Science, Social Studies or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• A high level of English proficiency is required; some proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
• Teaching experience in history, natural science, social studies or interdisciplinary work is highly valued.
• Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in High School, with a strong background in English Language Arts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students and colleagues.
• Capacity to establish positive professional relationships with 11 to 14 and 16 to 18 year-old students.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
