Connect your classroom with schools worldwide
Are you eager for your students to practice new languages with native speakers and connect with peers from around the world? Do you want to unlock global perspectives on key historical events in your curriculum or explore real-world solutions to environmental issues raised in the Geography syllabus? Round Square Study Labs offer a unique opportunity to bridge your classroom with schools throughout our network.
When students’ in-classroom learning connects with the wider world, it magnifies their understanding and broadens their horizons. It also raises aspirations and builds their capacity to make a positive difference. One of the most accessible ways to connect students internationally is through our online Round Square Study Labs. Hosted on Zoom and lasting from 60-90 minutes, your students lead conversations across multiple time zones and cultural contexts.
“As an IGCSE Spanish student, the Language Lab was a great opportunity for me to practice my speaking skills in conversation. I was able to interact with students my age about our similar interests and learn the different ways Spanish is spoken in different Spanish speaking countries.”
Darrel, Brookhouse School, Kenya
“My school hosted a Spanish Language Lab on Culture and Traditions. We led conversations in Spanish and we had people join from 7 different countries including Armenia, India, the UK, and Germany. For us it was very interesting to learn about their cultures, the pronunciation that we have according to the language we speak and the different strategies that we had to test in order to communicate, for example how to use the chat as a tool. The space was interactive and that allowed them to be encouraged to speak and practice the words they knew. In this meeting, apart from taking new words, they were also able to learn more about our culture.”

Round Square Study Labs
Designed to nurture leadership, deepen understanding of international perspectives, and build cross-cultural connections, Study Labs create space for students to explore curriculum topics in meaningful, relevant ways. Each 60–90 minute session is entirely student-led, and while participants are encouraged to follow the full programme, sessions can also be attended individually.
Geography (Ages 14+)
Small groups of between six and ten students from six schools will explore global case studies aligned to geography curricula. Each session offers an opportunity to examine international perspectives and reflect on how place, space, and human-environment interactions are understood around the world.
History (Ages 14+)
Small groups of between six and ten students from six school will start with an AI description of an event. Students will share and compare diverse viewpoints — opening the floor to nuanced conversations about how the past is taught, interpreted, and understood in different cultures.
Languages: French, English, Spanish and Mandarin (All ages)
Baraza-style discussion groups will be organised by proficiency level: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Students sign up to their chosen level in advance of the session and join peers from other schools in a fun, informal space to practise and improve their language skills with fluent speakers.
Registration will open approximately one month before each session. We will share full details — including topics, dates and sign-up links — in future editions of RS Weekly.
