RSIS South Africa 2025: Day 8

Share With

Today was another full day on site in South Africa, with teams working across different parts of the project.

One group spent the day at the bee farm, building furniture for the crèche and decorating beehives. The work was hands-on and practical, and everyone got stuck in — sanding, assembling, and adding some colour to the hives.

At the crèche, another team continued with painting the building and making progress in the garden areas. There was also a big push to unload sand and begin preparing the floors for concrete, which took teamwork and a lot of energy.

In the afternoon, students took part in baraza discussions — small group reflections where they shared some of their peak experiences so far. It was a chance to pause, listen to each other, and take in how much has happened over the last few days.

Students are ending the day tired, but with a clear sense that things are moving forward.
