Dunn School is a private, independent, boarding and day school for grades 6-12 located on 55 acres in Los Olivos, California, United States, which is located in the Santa Ynez Valley, 35 miles from Santa Barbara.
The Ideals in our school
Entrepreneurship has fueled innovation and experiential education at Dunn School since the institution was founded more than 65 years ago. Today, our innovative curriculum features a comprehensive entrepreneurship program that guides students through the process of starting, running and investing profits from their own business. Courses like our STEM-based auto racing simulation class meet students where they want to learn. Our pedagogy places Dunn students in real-life scenarios that build character, competency, and life skills. Through wilderness experiences, student leadership, our residential program, community service, and more, Dunn students are seen, heard, and known every step along the way.
What being a Round Square school means to us
Round Square membership is stimulating our community in a variety of ways. We are embracing opportunities to engage in further internationalism via student exchange both virtually and in-person. As we explore ways to increase democracy on our campus, we are observing current practices at Round Square Schools that will provide us with models to incorporate toward achieving our objectives. As a newer institution to the collective, we eagerly anticipate engaging directly with this amazing community, learning from each other, and putting exciting new measures into practice.
