École Alsacienne

Gender: Coeducational
Type: Day school
Age range: 3 - 18

Located in central Paris, the École alsacienne is an independent yet state-accredited, college-preparatory school offering the French Baccalaureate. Our school was founded in 1874 by a group of Alsatian refugees after the Franco-Prussian War, and we have since been a leader in the French educational system. Secular since 1874 and co-educational since 1908, our focus is on educating the individual student within the context of his or her community.

The IDEALS in our school

The Round Square IDEALS are an integral part of our school. Internationalism is one of the most obvious, as global awareness and exposure to foreign language and culture is at the heart of our educational project. We believe our pupils should be actively involved in their world and encourage participation in international collaborations, such as exchange programmes. Roughly 170 pupils benefit from these opportunities each year. Our pupils are also leaders in their own right, developing student-led initiatives and participating in school government. This leadership leads to mindfulness for the environment as well as support and solidarity toward others.

What being a Round Square school means to us

For the Ecole alsacienne, being Round Square means being part of a bigger picture. It means staying connected to the educational community on a global level. Strong ties between schools provide more opportunities for students to become leaders and work on intercultural projects. Being Round Square means giving our pupils opportunities to expand their cultural awareness and to partake in initiatives around the globe.
