The IDEALS in our school

King’s College is committed to the Round Square ideals. King’s became a global member in 2013 and has been working to further implement the RS IDEALS within the school’s culture.

King’s has a challenging ADVENTURE programme through the provision of co-curricular activities in sport and cultural pursuits as well as Outdoor Education. The Chapel provides a large community SERVICE programme to our low decile local community including reading in schools, woman’s refuge, refugee centre to name a few. A strong focus on LEADERSHIP is provided through training with opportunities to lead in the school and House system. We are working to become a sustainable school and have several ENVIRONMENTAL projects on the go. Students are investigating what it means to be part of an INTERNATIONAL community and how DEMOCRACY might further be embedded into the school’s culture.

What being a Round Square school means to us

Being a Round Square school has given us an overall focus and brings together many of the philosophies and values that we already had. It has helped our students understand how they fit into the world and how they can improve themselves. It has allowed us to connect with schools internationally and given opportunity for our students to travel to conferences and service projects
