The Armidale School (TAS) is an Anglican, co-educational boarding and day school in the vibrant regional city of Armidale in northern NSW, Australia. Founded in 1894, TAS is one of the leading boarding schools in regional Australia, with a long history of leadership, service and adventure programs. The current enrolment is around 640 students, including more than 230 boarders.

The IDEALS in our school

Throughout its history, TAS has valued the role of leadership, service and adventure programs. Our cadet unit is the second oldest in Australia; TAS was one of the first Australian schools to introduce the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, and in the late 1960s adopted Surf Life Saving and Rural Fire Service as components of the outdoor education program.

TAS was admitted as a Global Member of Round Square in 1998, upholding the IDEALS and enjoying the connection it has with more than 150 schools globally, through student exchanges, attendance at Regional and International RS conferences and involvement in local and international community service projects.

What being a Round Square school means to us

At TAS education is more than just academic achievement, but about giving them a broad range of opportunities so they become compassionate, courageous and committed young men and women with a global outlook – values which embody the IDEALS of Round Square.
