Wycliffe College

Gender: Coeducational
Type: Day and boarding school
Age range: 3 - 18

Independent day and boarding coeducational school, founded in 1882. Pupils at Wycliffe College enjoy life in a safe and stunning countryside campus set over 52-acres on the outskirts of Stonehouse in Gloucestershire, just 90 minutes from London. We successfully blend the traditional and the modern, not only with its striking architecture but also with its broad curriculum and forward-thinking ethos. Wycliffe is a pupil-centric environment where individuality is encouraged and respected. It fosters a pioneering spirit, developing independence in every pupil’s approach to learning and life.

The IDEALS in our school

Wycliffe College is a community of 600+ pupils (aged 3 to 18) of whom 2/3 are Day pupils and 1/3 Boarding pupils.  20% of our boys and girls are from more than 20 different countries around the world.  Through that international demographic we are fortunate to enjoy an ever-present global perspective and through our beautiful Cotswolds location a commitment to protecting the environment is an integrated part of many of our pupils’ lives.  Charitable initiatives are a key aspect of daily and weekly life.  And lessons learned outside of the classroom have always been valued as being at least as important as those learned within.

What being a Round Square school means to us

We rewrote our Vision Statement in 2019 to focus our minds on striving to “… promote a pioneering spirit and encourage individuals to flourish and embrace their futures as global citizens …”  We don’t think, therefore, that we need to try too hard to explain just why we feel Round Square and Wycliffe College are as closely aligned as we believe they/we are.  Involvement and engagement with Round Square will – we hope – give us extra impetus to bring that Vision to life.
