Future Ready Days at MacLachlan College are designed to encourage students and teachers to reach beyond the traditional borders of their classrooms, to put academics into action and to take an integrated approach to working collaboratively.

Realising the Learning Potential of International Friendship

In our schools, we have long understood the value in forging and cultivating personal friendships throughout the world. We have championed projects, large and small, from pen pal pairings and video conferences through to international exchanges.

Implementing collaborative lesson plans at St. George’s Grammar School

Last year St. George’s Grammar School took part in a collaborative project with a number of other Round Square Schools to develop a series of RSDF lesson plans around the International Day of Happiness. As a school St. George’s Grammar wrote a three-part lesson plan entitled ‘Spread the smiles’, to enable students to explore what makes them and others happy by looking at ‘The Five Love Languages’, and to design a campaign for happiness to uplift the spirit of a community.

Bishop Druitt College’s Rainbow Project

In 2018 a LGBTI Group was formed in an effort to support the students at Bishop Druitt College and their diverse needs and to promote inclusion and acceptance across the school. The group organise weekly meetings for students to come together with the aim of building a sense of belonging and community within the school and to develop their advocacy skills.

Supporting Transition at Matthew Flinders Anglican College

Starting school is an exciting and significant time in a child’s life. Building positive relationships between children, parents and teachers is unquestionably the most important aspect of ensuring a successful transition to a school for any child.

Water Conservation at Bayview Glen

Bayview Glen’s Prep School Round Square Student Committee and Green Team collaborated in a “Blue Schools” water conservation program organized by Toronto Zoo. The programme is designed to encourage young people to tackle high water consumption and reduce human impact on aquatic ecosystems by implementing measurable actions within their school, local communities and beyond.
