French Teacher

Our ethos is grounded in providing a safe, caring, respectful, tolerant and disciplined environment where high standards prevail in all areas of school life. The school has approximately 280 pupils and a teaching staff of 48.

The school is seeking an experienced French teacher to join the Modern Languages department. The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver our French curriculum to variety of pupils with varied abilities, mainly in our Secondary section. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a pastoral role in the school and to contribute to the school’s co-curriculum. This role also encompasses curriculum development for our expanding secondary school as we grow organically year by year up to Year 13.

BJAB is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates will be subject to background checks in line with British Overseas Standards.

Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • At least 2 year’s teaching experience in a British school (preferred) or an international school
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English (written and verbal)
  • The right to work in Belgium

The following characteristics are desirable:

  • Ability to teach another language, Spanish being the most desirable
  • Experience with the French (I)GCSE curriculum
