Our ethos is grounded in providing a safe, caring, respectful, tolerant and disciplined environment where high standards prevail in all areas of school life. The school has approximately 280 pupils and a teaching staff of 48.

The school is seeking an passionate Physical Education (PE) Teacher for a late August 2025 start date preferably with a strong background in UK Secondary Education and the Cambridge Curriculum. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a pastoral role in the school and to contribute to the school’s co-curriculum. This role also encompasses curriculum development for our expanding secondary school as we grow organically year by year up to Year 13.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and high-quality P.E. lessons across all key stages (Key Stage 1 – 4).
Teach and support students studying IGCSE P.E., ensuring strong subject knowledge and exam preparation.
Foster a positive and inclusive sporting environment that encourages participation and teamwork.
Develop students’ physical skills, fitness, and understanding of healthy lifestyles.
Organise and contribute to extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and school sporting events.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote a strong sports culture within the school.

Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching IGCSE Physical Education or in a British secondary school or similar educational setting
Degree in Physical Education or related subject (e.g., sports science, coaching)
Ability to carry out practical swimming instruction is required
Experience teaching PE in a British school setting, either in the UK or abroad (desirable)
An excellent knowledge of UK education and the National Curriculum of England , particularly of the IGCSE P.E. curriculum and assessment
A passion for promoting health, fitness, and sportsmanship
Strong subject knowledge and pedagogical skills
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying ages and abilities
Strong communication and organisational skills
Native or Fluent mastery level of English
The right to work in Belgium and/or eligibility for sponsorship under a Belgian work visa programme

The following experience is highly desirable:

Teaching experience in Key Stage 3 and/or 4 or (I)GCSE in a British school or a British international school
Ability to teach an additional related subjects would be a clear asset
Experience of delivering the Duke of Edinburgh program or willingness to be trained to do so would be an additional benefit
