A Postcard from Step By Step School: Think Globally, Act Locally

On 21st July, Step By Step School hosted its inaugural Round Square Zoom Postcard centred around the IDEAL of environmentalism. Open to students aged 11-13, “Think Globally, Act Locally” brought together 10 schools and over a hundred participants divided into 8 Barraza’s to discuss eco-friendly practices with special emphasis on food sustainability in today’s world.

Modern School Barakhamba Road hosted a Round Square Zoom Postcard Event on 14th July, 2021 on the theme ‘Courage is Grace Under Pressure’. The hosts, through this event, desired to give a new definition to courage; a definition that is fluid, adaptable, and universal.

The International Language of Food

Whoever you are, whatever your background, wherever in the world you are, when it comes to food, everyone has an experience; each of us has a personal understanding from which to explore the food of other countries and its significance in different cultures. It’s an accessible topic, and it doesn’t require sophisticated language or complex explanations before joining in.   

Ballarat Grammar Sleep Out

Dubbed ‘The Kurt Hahn Sleep Out’, every year a group of Ballarat Grammar students brave the elements to learn about homelessness and experience the conditions that those less fortunate face on the street on a nightly basis.

A Collaboration on cross-cultural differences

Godspell College in Argentina shared a collaborated with Mayo College in India, British Overseas School in Pakistan and GEMS Modern Academy in United Arab Emirates to explore and discuss their cultural differences and similarities.

A Postcard from Stiftung Louisenlund: Anti-Semitism in Modern Germany

Stiftung Louisenlund hosted Round Square postcard for students aged 16-18 on Zoom on Antisemitism in Modern Germany. Over 100 students from 29 schools in 14 countries (Germany, Switzerland, India, South Africa, Kenya, Colombia, the USA, Canada, Oman, Romania, the UK, Peru, Armenia, and Tanzania) joined the call, in which, the student hosts gave a brief history of the Holocaust before delving into modern day examples of antisemitism and opening up the conversation in baraza breakouts with their peers from around the world.
