Reports to: Mr. Eric Hedinger, Head of Upper School
FLSA Status: Exempt

This position is a full-time teaching position beginning August, 2020.

Responsibilities: The Upper School Art Teacher will report to the Head of Upper School and will be responsible for teaching four art classes to students in grades 9-12. In addition to the normal teaching responsibilities, this person will advise a group of 10 students, and perform periodic duty assignments (lunch, traffic, advisor, etc.).

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in art or art education is required and three or more years teaching experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of both
western and non-western art history and knowledge of drawing and painting techniques, printmaking, and sculpture/3-D design. Curricular experience in AP Art History is preferred. The applicant should have a strong academic background and possess proficient technology skills. The candidate should have superb organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as a team member.
