RSIS Borneo: rain, rain go away

Posted: 09 December 2019

Sunday 8th December

Sunday was a surprisingly relaxing day. After receiving their orientation and then transferring the Orphanage in Tambunan, the original plans for working in the community in the afternoon were postponed due to rain. Nobody’s spirits were damped by the wet weather because the team made the best out of their rainy afternoon and played games, got to know each other, and fill in their reflection journals. It’s lovely to see our wonderful team really bonding together.

Monday 9th December

Today was thankfully much dryer, and the team were able to enjoy their first full day on the project site. The team worked in chain-gangs to start moving all the building materials 70 meters from the school’s compound to the project site. There were lots of materials to be moved, and the team worked tirelessly to get everything on site and safely stored over night. The evening was spent playing more games!
