Ryde School with Upper Chine is a co-educational ISC independent day and boarding school in the seaside town of Ryde, on the Isle of Wight.
The IDEALS in our school
As a member of Round Square our pupils have been able to engage with learners around the globe during the shutdown, ensuring internationalism and globalism are very much in our thoughts and actions. Successes in Model United Nation and Pupil Speaking competitions and international exchange programmes have helped enable our pupils to research, understand and debate global issues and bring those discussions back to the wider school. Some of our MUN pupils have continued with online conferences over the last few weeks, with best delegate awards coming in from Canada, New England and the Netherlands.
What being a Round Square school means to us
Being accepted into Round Square and having our commitment to its IDEALS has helped also give coherence and value to character education at our School and is in line with our other programmes including Ghanlink, DofE and CCF. The IDEALS have augmented our Ryde School Learner Profile, based on the IB World School attributes and with the skills profile of our Years 7 & 8 PSB Prep Programme.
