The Ideals in our school
BHS is proud to be one of only 200 Members Schools in 50 countries, whose schools commit not only to developing students’ academic excellence, but also to supporting their commitment to personal development and responsibility.
By providing opportunities to actively investigate the six IDEALS of international understanding, democracy, environmental stewardship, adventure, leadership and service, our students acquire vital skills for the future through practical and experiential learning.
In addition to our school and local activities, as a Round Square school, students have the opportunity to participate in international service projects, conferences and student exchanges enabling them to explore other cultures, develop international friendships and study in other countries.
What being a Round Square school means to us
“Being a Round Square student is about daring to do something challenging, about being interested and enthusiastic about the world and taking an active role to improve it in some way. With Round Square at BHS, you can be pushed out of your comfort zone without technically leaving it.”
Emma O’Donnell, Head Student 2016/2017.
