The IDEALS in our school

The IDEALs are embedded into all areas of our curriculum, wider curricular activities and in our service projects within the local community.  Many of our students have experienced Regional Conferences and we were lucky enough to be invited to the RSCI 2014 in India, which was a life changing opportunity for our students. Other students have been lucky enough to visit other school within the European region through the student exchange programme.  Due to our affiliation with Round Square our students are becoming confident and conscientious global citizens.

What being a Round Square school means to us

All students have the opportunity to visit other Round Square schools on an exchange. So far, students have been to Transylvania, Germany and Australia.

The school councils are linked to the Round Square committees; with a Student Captain for each of the IDEALS. Student representatives have been involved in the appointment of new staff, hosting visitors and in the observation of the staff-briefing process. The ECO Club encourages students to participate in recycling programmes. The whole academy annually takes part in MAD (make a difference) day; the Forestry Commission assign areas in our local forests, which we collaboratively clear of invasive species.
