Rod Fraser

This week marks a year since the sad passing of Rod Fraser former Round Square Chairman. In remembrance the Round Square Board of Trustees has resolved, with the agreement and blessing of Rod’s Family, to introduce a new annual award for student leadership.

The Rod Fraser Leadership Award will be presented annually to a student from a Round Square school whose leadership capability and potential is demonstrated in their actions to date and their ambitions for the future.

The recipient of this award will be invited to attend the Round Square international conference and their participation supported through a financial gift to cover the cost of their delegate fees and make a contribution towards their travel to a total maximum value of £2000 (or to cover their delegate fees and travel in full if the total is less than £2,000).

To enter for the award a student must submit a written statement of no more than 600 words outlining (1) the ways in which they have demonstrated leadership capacity and potential in their actions to date, and (2) how they believe their participation in the RSIC will help them to develop their leadership skills for the future. Each application must be supported by a letter from the Head of School and a peer endorsement/ citation of no more than 400 words from the applicant’s fellow students at their school. Entries should be submitted by the Round Square Rep HERE (please ensure you have all three documents ready)

The closing date for the Rod Fraser Leadership Award is 1st May 2022. The award recipient will be informed by the 10th of May so that they can make arrangements to attend the conference in the UK in September
