Penrhos is a Uniting Church Day Boarding School for girls, PK-12, located in Como, South Perth, Western Australia.
Penrhos College today is a vibrant and thriving community of nearly 1,000 students, 250 staff and more than 8,000 Alumni. From the earliest days of Penrhos College, we have placed our students firmly at the centre of all that we do. Our motto of ‘Strive for the Highest’ continues to be as relevant today as it was in 1952 – the year it was founded. At Penrhos College, our purpose is clear: To inspire girls to become extraordinary women; this notion of ‘extraordinary’ means helping support each girl to become the best she can be, as she grows in character and uses her unique gifts, talents and passions to her full potential.
The Ideals in our school
The Round Square IDEALS underpin our PK-12 co-curricular offerings of the College, and are the organisational framework by which we aim to meet our stated co-curricular PURPOSE:
Students continuously explore interests and embrace opportunities for challenge and extension, that contribute to their own awareness and personal growth, and that positively impact the surrounding social, cultural, environmental and global context.
The review, evaluation and application process for consideration of broader student offerings is conducted against the IDEALS, as we aim to develop outward looking, contributing members of society.
What being a Round Square school means to us
Our diverse and balanced education allows each girl to explore and realise her strengths, abilities and passions which, in turn, provides her with choices to explore beyond her school days. We believe that our girls will be well equipped to manage whatever challenges and opportunities the future presents to them.
The opportunities afforded to connect, engage, collaborate, learn and serve with and from, students and staff from different cultures, genders, faiths, and perspectives through Round Square membership is important.
